Titans win 6-5 barn burner in Ville-Marie

On Friday evening in Ville-Marie, the Titans and the Pirates were facing off in round 3 of the highway 101 war. The Pirates had won the first two games at the Centre earlier in the season, so the Titans were looking to make a statement this evening. The Pirates opened the scoring with a power play goal late into the opening period. But the Titans replied with three unanswered goals in the last 5 minutes including their 3rd with only 3 seconds left to play. Julien Vogt, Guillaume Taupier & Rylan Freed on a power play sent the Titans to intermission leading 3-1. Gustav Rollfelt increased the score to 4-1 before the Pirates got within one goal with a pair of power play goals. A late period goal by Alex Provost-Ross gave the Titans a 5-3 lead heading into the final 20 minutes. The Pirates fought back to make it 5-4 and then with their goalie pulled for an extra attacker tied the game at 5 goals apiece on a power play with 35 seconds left. The stage was now set for an overtime period. Gustav Rollfelt banged home a rebound to give the Titans the 6-5 win, their first win against the Pirates and completes a successful weekend with two victories. Michael White and Harald Sundell each had 2 assists. Emile Goulet started the game but left in the second a few minutes after a Pirates player collided with him on the boards behind his net. Raffaele Izzo was called upon to finish off the game and gets the victory. Gustav Rollfelt and Rylan Freed were the 1st and 3rd stars of the game. The Titans next opponents are the Almaguin Spartans on Friday October 27th, game time as usual is 8pm
