Spartans advance with 6-3 win over Titans

The Titans were in a tough situation trailing the Spartans 2-0 in the best of 5 series with game #3 in South River on Sunday night. A win tonight would save off elimination and the Titans got off to an excellent start with a power play goal by Michael White with less than 3 minutes played. The lead was increased to 2-0 on an Adam Edmands goal about 4 minutes later. But the Spartans struck back with two goals of their own, both on the power play. The first period ended tied at two. The Spartans scored three in the second to head into the final 20 minutes perhaps of the season for the Titans, leading 5-2. The Spartans scored their 6th of the game before Dayton Murray scored the final goal of the game and the Titans season.

With the win, the Spartans sweep the Titans 3-0 and advance to the North division finals and will host either the Bradford Rattlers or Ville Marie Pirates in the best 4 out of 7 series that is set to begin on March 10th.
