Titans lose in S.O. to Spartans 6-5

Home ice advantage in this series so far doesn’t mean too much as each team has a victory in their opposition’s barn.  On Saturday evening at the Centre this was the case as the Spartans blew a 4-1 lead in the third period but managed to pull out the win in a shootout.  Anthony Bedard scored in the first for the Titans which ended tied at one goal each.  Three second period goals from the Spartans sent them to the final frame leading 4-1. A packed house at the Centre were on the edge of their seats in the last half of the third period as the Titans staged a comeback to tie the game and send it to an extra 5 minutes overtime period on goals by Dayton Murray, Michael Chuinard, Kurtis Klinger and Nicolas Jasmin.  Nothing was solved so a shoot out would determine which team would lead the series 2-1.  Deverick Ottereyes scored on the Titans first attempt.  A goal from the Spartans tied it, then Ryder Murray was stopped.  The next Spartans shooter scored so it was up to Michael Chuinard and he was stopped by the Almaguin netminder.  Shots were 46-25 Titans.
