Titans clobber Lynx, 10-2

The Titans completed a perfect weekend on Sunday afternoon with a resounding 10-2 win over the West Nipissing Lynx. A huge 9-4 win on Friday over the Spartans got the weekend going on the right foot. A total of 12 Titans contributed on the scoresheet. The Titans opened the scoring at the 16 second mark with a Rylan Freed goal. That was all the scoring for the opening period. Titans outshot the Lynx 14-6. The Lynx tied the game at 5:11, but 15 seconds later Joakim Braneby blasted a slap shot top corner and that’s as close as the Lynx would get as the Titans got 3 more to end the second leading 5-1. Freed with his second, Simon Brannvall & Victor Lilja were the goal scorers. Only 12 seconds into the final period, the Lynx reduced the score to 5-2. The Titans replied with 5 straight goals Alex Provost-Ross on a power play, Freed with his third and fourth, Jakob Wilhelmsson and Thomas Leonard. The final shot clock showed a 53-32 advantage for the Titans. The 3 stars were Provost-Ross, Gustav Rollfelt and Simon Brannvall. The Titans have now won 5 games in a row and 7 of the last eight by a combined score of 52-16. With the weekend’s 4 points the Titans have leaped over the Lynx and Pirates into 5th position in the North division. And have at least 2 to 3 games in hand on the teams ahead of them in the standings.

The Titans and Lynx will play two more times this week with a Friday/Saturday home and home series. Friday November 3rd at the Centre and down to Sturgeon Falls Saturday to complete the weekend.
