Mission accomplished, on to round 2 for Titans

Titans advance into round 2

The Titans were back home in front of their fans that numbered almost 500 on Thursday night for game 4 of the best of 5 series against the Rattlers. Leading in the series 2 games to 1 following 2 wins in Bradford over the weekend. The fans were treated to an excellent hockey game but in the end it was the Titans that prevailed by the score of 7-4. The Titans led 1-0 after the first period on a goal from Ryder Murray. The Rattlers tied the score only 58 seconds in the middle then grabbed the lead about 6 minutes later on a power play goal. The Titans didn’t waste any time to deadlock the score at two as Marc-Antoine Arseneau scored 37 seconds later. Two quick goals 50 seconds apart by Zacharie Maheu and Guillaume Taupier on a power play gave the Titans a 4-2 lead. The lead was increased to 5-2 on another power play goal, this time it was Ryder Murray. But before the period ended the Rattlers reduced the lead to 5-3 on a power play goal of their own. In the first three minutes of the final period, the Rattlers scored to make it 5-4. But that’s as close as they would get as the Titans Hugo Noller scored before the half way point on the period. An empty net goal by Marc-Antoine Arseneau sealed the win for the home squad and sent the home crowd into a frenzy. The shots on goal were 40-37 Titans. Veli Makinen was the winner. The 3 stars of the game were Ryder Murray, Adrien Guenette and Marc-Antoine Arseneau. The next round is scheduled to begin on Tuesday February 28th but as of now the Titans do not know who their opposition will be.
