Izzo shuts out Shield, 6-0

The Titans were playing in Gravenhurst on Friday evening for their first encounter against the South Muskoka Shield and are heading home with a shutout victory. After a scoreless first period where the Titans dominated the play outshooting the Shield 22-8. Coach Bendi’s troup turned it up a notch for the remaining 40 minutes. Loic Odin scored the Titans first two goals, then Guillaume Taupier and Julien Vogt added singles to make it 4-0 after two periods. Taupier netted his second and Hampus Andersson rounded out the scoring. Total shots were 60-23 Titans. Raffaele Izzo earned his first shutout of the season and the Titans second. Jakob Wilhelmsson added 3 assists while Alex Provost-Ross chipped in with a pair of helpers. The Titans head back home with the “W” and now travel to Ville-Marie Saturday night to face the Pirates in round #3 of the War of highway 101. It should be a loud time in VM.
