A shaky start of the game had the Pirates ahead 4-0 in the first 8 minutes of the game. Some costly turnovers in the defensive zone resulted in Pirates goals. New Titans head coach Justin Roy calmed down his troup as they rebounded with 3 goals of their own to bring the score to 4-3. But before the period ended, the Pirates restored a two goal cushion to head to intermission leading 5-3. Charles Blandin, Hampus Andersson & Joakim Braneby were the goal scorers.
In the middle period, the Titans scored 2 quick goals to tie the game at 5. But once more the Pirates struck back to lead 6-5 after 40 minutes. Dayton Murray and Jakob Wilhelmsson got the Titans goals.
In the final period, the action was up and down the ice with each team getting good scoring opportunities. Again the Pirates capitalized on an error to regain a 2 goal lead. With a little more than 2 minutes to play and the Pirates called on a minor penalty the Titans pulled Aaron Young for an extra attacker and Joakim Braneby’s power play goal made it 7-6 Pirates. But an empty net goal with 57 seconds to play put an end to the Titans hope of a comeback. The Pirates have had the Titans number this season so far winning 6 of the 7 games played. The shots were 45-42 Pirates. Aaron Young who came in relief of Emile Goulet in first period takes the loss. 3 stars were Justin Lemieux (VM), Nicolas Bellerose(VM) and Dayton Murray (T)
