Titans crush Civics 10-2, even series.

The question of the night was could the Titans respond at home at knot the series at one game apiece. The home crowd didn’t even get comfortable in their seat when the Titans struck with a goal only 32 seconds into the game. Guillaume Taupier on a neat pass from Zacharie Maheu, who had stripped the puck from a Civics defender. 65 seconds later Scott Sovinsky tipped in a Hampus Anderrsson shot and it was 2-0. The Civics cut the lead in half on a power play goal at the 8:30 mark. But the Titans replied on a Zacharie Maheu goal to restore a two goal lead. Less than 3 minutes later, Maheu got his second to make it 4-1 Titans. The Civics made it 4-2 in the last 2 minutes of the period. From then on, it was all Titans as they scored two goals in the second and four in the third with three of them on a major penalty power play. Ryder Murray had a hat trick while Adrien Guenette, Nico Wilton and Nikita SIdenko rounded out the scoring. Taupier and Marc-Antoine Arseneau each collected 3 assists. Veli Makinen earned his 4th win of the playoffs facing 34 Civics shots. The Titans directed 54 shoots towards the two net minders from the Civics. The 3 stars were Ryder Murray, Guillaume Taupier and Zacharie Maheu. The Titans don’t get much time to savour their big win as they hit the road on Thursday for game 3 in New Tecumseth. Game 4 will be back at the Center on Saturday March 4th; puck drop will take place at 7:30pm.
