The Temiscaming Titans are extremely pleased to announce the addition of a solid defenseman from Sweden. Victor Mattsson, a 6’4” 230lb 21 year old signed on with the Titans. His home town in Sweden is Karlstad, Varmland.
Victor is a natural blue liner but can also play up front when required. “I like to support the rush in the offensive zone when possible” says Victor. Titans GM Nicolas Tourigny believes that adding a player of Victor’s size and m…obility will be a major contributing factor in keeping things tidy in our zone. Players of Mattsson talent are not the easiest to come by, when one comes along you go for it !
Victor played in Sweden splitting his season between Kils AIK in div II playing in 6 games. He also played an additional 6 games in div III for Forshaga IF2 collecting 1 goal and 6 assists. The Titans had their sights on Mattsson last season but Victor had signed a contract for a team in his home town. So in 2018-19 Victor and the Titans both get what they wanted.
Victor added”My decision to come to Canada and the Titans was made on several factors. The reputation of the team’s program, the winning tradition of the team and the favorable comments of past Swedish players”. Victor will be wearing jersey #12
