Titans sneak past Lynx 4-3

The Temiscaming Titans (9-9) were on the ice Thursday night to face the West Nipissing Lynx (6-12) at the Centre. The Lynx were badly outplayed and outshot in the first period but still escaped the period with a 1-0 lead. Shots in the first period were 25-5 Titans. Things didn’t get much better for the Titans in the middle period as while they were on a power play, a giveaway at the blue line resulted in a break in and shorthanded goal by the Lynx and the lead was now 2-0. But the Titans responded with 2 goals in 12 seconds early in the final period to tie the game. Larri Vartiainen and Hampus Andersson got the Titans back into the contest. Then with 4:30 left Guillaume Taupier puts the Titans ahead for the first time. Then with less than 90 seconds to play with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, the Lynx tie the score at three.   The Titans then controlled the last minute of the game and Adrien Guenette scored the game winner with only 2 seconds left on the clock. Overall shots on goal were 67-27 Titans. The games 3 stars were Justin Roy, goaltender Lynx, Nico Wilton and Larry Vartiainen. The Titans now get ready to face the Bradford Rattlers (15-6) on Friday evening.
