Spartans outlast Titans, 9-6

The Titans were playing their first road game of the season against their regional rivals, the Almaguin Spartans on Friday evening. Only 49 seconds into the game with Guillaume Taupier completing a nice two way passing play with Alex Provost-Ross. Less than 4 minutes later, the Spartans tied it on a breakaway. The score remained tied for about half the period until the Spartans took a 2-1 lead. A Harald Sundell goal tied the score. But with only 36 seconds left a goal by the Spartans made it 3-2 after 20minutes. The second period had both teams on a goal scoring spree as they combined for 8 goals, 4 apiece, giving the Spartans an edge of 7-6 after two periods. Titans goals were by Julien Vogt, Alex Provost-Ross with a pair and Sundell scoring his second of the game. Two third period goals by the Spartans sealed the win, final score 9-6. Titans were outshot 55-40 with Emile Goulet taking the loss. The Titans now have 6 days to rest up and get ready for 2 games next week. A visit by the Knights of Meaford on Thursday night and another road trip to Sturgeon Falls to hook up with the Lynx.
