Titans lose a close one to Spartans

In Ville-Marie on Saturday night, the Titans and the Spartans were meeting for the fifth time of the season. The Spartans leave Ville-Marie now only 4 points behind the Titans with one game in hand with their 3-2 victory.  The Spartans led 2-1 after 20 minutes.  Deverick Ottereyes had the Titans goal.  A lone goal in the second by Nicolas Jasmin tied the score at 2 and sent the teams into the final period.  With less than five minutes to play while on a power play, the Spartans got the game winner.  With less than two minutes to play, the Titans pulled the goalie for an extra attacker but could not get a puck into the Almaguin net to force overtime.  The Titans outshot the Spartans 37-31.  Each team had 6 minor penalties.  The Titans finish off the regular season with two home games.  First up is the first place South Muskoka Shield on Friday February 12th.  And then the last game of the season will be at 2:30 on Saturday February 13th against these same Spartans.  First place in the North division will be at stake for sure.
