In a game where the Almaguin Spartans dominated almost every aspect of the game played Thursday evening at the Centre and go back home to South River for the next 2 games leading the best of 5 North division semi final. The Spartans played a typical playoff style hockey. The Spartans were the superior team tonight as the controlled most of the play winning a fairly high percentage of face offs. You win the face off, you control the play ! An all around team effort by the Spartans had the Titans looking puzzled and frustrated. The only statistic that the Titans dominated were the shots on goal, 52-35. But a lot of these shots were long distance that Erik Spath had no trouble with. The Titans also kept the penalties to a minimum with 2 minors compared to 7 for the Spartans
Any way you lose whether by one goal, four goals or ten goals a loss is a loss.
The Spartans and Titans will renew their acquaintances tomorrow evening in South River, game time is 7:30pm. Game 3 will be again in South River on Sunday evening. If required a game 4 will be back at the Centre next Tuesday at 7:30pm.
Alex Provost-Ross was the lone Titans goal scorer and was the 3rd star. First star was Matt Labrosse (S) and the second was Alex Gauthier (S). Emile Goulet suffered his first loss in the playoffs.
