Titans go back to France for our goaltender

Read MoreThe Titans were hosting their first home game in almost a month and gave their fans a lot to cheer for on Thursday night as they handed the Almaguin Spartans a 4-1 defeat. This was the second victory for the Titans in less than a week over their regional rivals. The Titans opened the scoring at 3:47 of the first on Jakob WIlhelmsson power play goal. The lead was increased in the second period as Adrien Guenette tipped in a perfect pass from Gustav Rollfelt at 14:16. Then with a little more than a minute to play in the period, Hampus Fagrell fired a laser beam wrist shot from the blue line that got by Spartans netminder Mark Moon. The Titans went to the dressing room leading 3-0. The Spartans finally broke Raffaele Izzo’s shutout bid early in the final period on a deflected shot. Hampus Andersson then restored the 3 goal lead with another wrist shot from the blue line. And that was all the scoring as the final score was 4-1. Shots on goal were 50-37 Titans. Raffaele Izzo got the victory and was the third star. Ryder Murray had 2 assists and was named the second star. Gustav Rollfelt was the first star. Next up for the Titans will be a visit from the north division leading New Tecumseth Civics(26-2) on Saturday night, game time is 8pm. Prior to the start of the game, Scott Sovinsky was named Temkin campers Player of the month. And another presentation was made to Titans long time trainer Raynald Proulx, who will be relocating to Timmins over the weekend. He was presented with a plaque thanking him for his volunteer service with the Titans.
