2 weeks after being traded to Titans, we are pleased to confirm the signing of defenseman Jacob Payeur for the coming season.
Jacob Payeur (2005) 6’3” 190 is a product of the North Bay Trappers program.
he was an important part of the 2022-23 Northern Ontario Playoff champion U18 AAA team that took part in the Provincial Championships leading up to the Telus Cup just 3 weeks ago.
Jacob is a solid all around defenseman, great skater and a responsible D. He can also play as a forward, although it is as a defenseman that he will play with us.
Jacob was early noticed by Jr teams when he played 3 games at age 16 with the Powassan Voodoos of the NOJHL and 19 games at 17 years old with French River of the same league.
It should be noted that even though this young man comes from Kapuskasing and grew up in Sturgeon Falls, he has deep roots in Temiscaming.
Jacob is the grandson of Mr. Ken Collins, former Temiscaming Royals and former player of the OHA-Jr (ancestor of the OHL).
He is the son of Nancy Collins-Payeur of Témiscaming.
Our rookie defender grew up with a grandfather who told him about the rich tradition of hockey in Temiscaming and the history of the Royals.
Jacob really wanted to play for the Titans.
Once the transaction materialized, he told us of a wish that we were immediately able to grant him.
Jacob Payeur will wear number 11 in honor of his grandfather who had adopted this number.
Welcome to the Titans Jacob…welcome home.
