Titans win 8-2, lead series 1-0

Titans take series lead with 8-2 win.
On a stormy Thursday evening the Titans were hosting game 1 of the North division semi final against their regional rivals, the Almaguin Spartans. The only goal of the first period was by Yannick Ethier. The score was then 3-0 Titans after 40 minutes with goals from Misha Akatnov and captain Alex Provost-Ross. The third period saw the Titans start on a 5 minute power play and they took full advantage scoring 3 goals. Two from Akatnov for the hattie and Drew Warkentine with the other. Nicolas Tremblay and Zacharie Maheu rounded out the scoring for the Titans before the Spartans got two late power play goals of their own. Eloi Bouchard gets the win in goal facing 26 shots while the Titans directed 49 at the duo of Spartans netminders.
Overall a good defensive effort as the Titans held their opposition to less than 3 goals and only 26 shots. Akatnov ended up with 3g-2a. Alex Provost-Ross 1g-2a and Nicolas Tremblay 1g-3a.
The two teams will be back at it Friday night for game 2 of the best of five series at the South River-Machar community center. Game time is 7:30pm
