Titans suffer 2nd loss of season

The Titans were in Gravenhurst on October 9th for their first meeting of the season against the South Muskoka Shield. Looking to rebound from a loss to the Islanders in their last game, the Titans found themselves at the wrong end of a 5-3 score to the Shield.  Trailing 2-1 after the first and then 3-1 after 40 minutes, they could get no closer than 4-3 late in the final frame only to see the Shield notch an empty netter in the last minute.  With this loss, the Titans are tied in second place with 14 points.  Ryder Murray had a goal and 2 assists while Dayton Murray had 1 goal and 1 assists.  The other goal was from Sakari Starkkila.  Nolan Kinney had a pair of helpers.  Tomas Mastarlisky took the loss.  The Titans outshot the Shield 46-40.

The Titans have the week to prepare for a 3 games in 3 day span as they host the Lumberjacks Friday October 16th at 8pm at the Centre.  Then a short drive to South River to play the undefeated Spartans Saturday.  This will be followed to their first visit to Bobcaygeon to play the Storm Sunday evening.
