Titans edge Spartans 3-1 at the Centre

Titans edge Spartans 3-1.
The Titans were hosting the Almaguin Spartans on Saturday night at the Centre. The memory of a 10-5 loss last week in South River was on the players mind. Unlike the last meeting this one was a tighter battle that had both goaltenders making several nice saves. Petiul from Almaguin faced 50 shots while Bobby Cloutier turned aside 34 of the 35 directed his way. Titans never trailed in the game leading 1-0 after 20 minutes on a Misha Akatnov goal. By the time the teams headed to the second intermission the score was 2-1 Titans. Xavier Sincennes had the goal during the middle period.
The stage was set for a very interesting final 20 minutes. The Spartans had several opportunities to draw even but Cloutier closed the door. Yannick Ethier sealed the victory with an empty net goal with only 10 seconds to play. Zacharie Maheu chipped in with 2 helpers.
The 3 stars were Aleck Forcier, Bobby Cloutier and Martin Petiul (S),
The Titans record now stands at 14-5-1 good for 29 points and third position in the North division.
A couple days of well-earned rest and prepare for a big 2 day road trip to play the Bradford Bulls on Wednesday Nov 20, followed with the New Tecumseth Civics on Thursday nov 21.
Go Titans Go !
