Shoot out at the Centre

Shoot out at the Centre

It was only an exhibition game but someone forgot to tell both teams.  The Titans and Spartans played 65 minutes to a 2-2 draw and required a shoot out to determine a winner. No scoring in a sloppy first period, which is understandable in a first game for both clubs.  All the scoring came in middle period.  The Titans scored the games first two goals and both were by Nicolas Jasmin.  The Spartans fought back to tie the game with goals from Bryan Austin and Gustav Wessling. No scoring in the extra period brought us to the climax of the game.  A total of 8 shooters faced Nicolas Jouanne of the Spartans and Tomas Mastalirsky of the Titans.  The shoot out was a goaltenders nightmare as the first 7 shooters found the back of the net.  After Ludwig Nillson missed his chance for the Spartans, Sakari Starkkila of Helsinki, Finland scored the winner.  Penalties were 8 minors for the Titans and 10 for the Spartans.

The real action starts on Friday September 11th at 8:00pm when the Titans have their home opener against the Parry Sound Islanders.
