End of an era in Temiscaming

Like every year in junior hockey, players come and players go. At the start of every new season veterans return and rookies try to break the roster of the team. But with every beginning comes an end. The end this season was sudden and the earliest in our history. But that’s hockey, you win some and you lose some. It’s always a tough day when you need to say goodbye to the players when they leave for home after spending the last months or years amongst us.
But this year, we come to an end of an era. The Murray Era ! Since 2012, there has been at least one and sometimes two Murray’s in the Titans lineup. Ryder and Dayton Murray, brothers from Spruce Grove Alberta have spent a total of 9 years between them in Temiscaming wearing the Titans colors. They were both Russell Cup Champions in 2015, they both were named several times to the GMHL all star teams, they were both Titans team captains and have had their jersey numbers retired. Saying a final goodbye to Ryder a couple years ago was just as difficult as it was today. Not only saying a final farewell to Dayton but to his father Shawn who will join his son in the multi province ride of over 3,000 kms to return home.
The Titans are forever grateful for all that the Murray family has contributed to the success of our organization over the years. We wish nothing but the best to Dayton in his future hockey endeavours.
Remember one thing “Once a Titans, always a Titans” Bleed blue !!!
