The Titans were hosting their regional rivals, the Almaguin Spartans on Sunday afternoon following a home win of 10-2 over Bancroft on Friday evening. And as usual both teams delivered an intense, fast paced and hard hitting affair. With the teams deadlocked at one goal after 20 minutes and at three after the second. The Titans opened things up in the final 20 minutes with 3 unanswered goals including an empty netter. The Spartans opened the scoring only to have Marc-Antoine Turcotte tie it up before the first buzzer.
In the second each team traded 2 goals with Turcotte getting his second on a breakaway and Xavier Sincennes had the other.
The stage was set for an exciting final 20 minutes. Early in the final period, Cody Woodward deflected a shot past Martin Petiul, the Spartans netminder to give the Titans the lead that they never relinquished.
Zacharie Maheu continued his scoring pace collecting 4 assists. Yannick Ethier had 1 goal and 1 helper. Hayden Moistner put the final nail in the coffin with an empty netter. The Titans now have won 7 games in a row. Also in the league standings, the Titans first line of Ethier, Maheu and Turcotte are dominating the scoring lists, Yannick Ethier is on the top with 18g while Zacharie Maheu tops the assists leaders with 30. Three of top five scorers are with the Titans. Maheu 38pts, Turcotte 36 pts & Ethier 35 pts.
The Titans next game will be on October 19th as they make the short drive up highway 101 to renew hostilities with the Pirates.
