Last minute win over Lynx, 5-4

 

In a game that was tighter than expected, a late goal by Rylan Freed with just 54 seconds to go, gave the Titans a 5-4 win over the West Nipissing Lynx at Sturgeon Falls on Friday evening. The Titans led 2-0 after the first from goals by Joakim Braneby and Adam Edmands, his 4th in 3 games. The Lynx tied the score and took the lead 3-2 with a goal while only one second remained in the second period.

In the third period the Titans tied the game with a goal from Harald Sundell and Rylan Freed restored a 4-3 lead with his goal. The Lynx once again tied the score at 4 goals each. The match looked like an extra period would be needed. But with just 54 seconds to go, Rylan Freed scored his second of the game and eventual winning goal for the Titans. Carl Mogard and Albin Palsson were in their first game as a Titans. Mogard had an assist. Shots on goal favored the Lynx 48-40. Emile Goulet was in the Titans’ net and was awarded the victory. The Titans prepare for a big game on Saturday night as they head to Ville Marie to face the Pirates
