Titans win 4-3 in shootout over Shield

Titans get back in the win column
In a game that made us go through all kinds of emotions tonight at the Centre, the Titans earned a 4-3 shootout victory over the South Muskoka Shield. Without the services in the lineup tonight of Provost-Ross, Vandal, Hart and Mattsson, with new lines improvised under the circumstances, the Titans’ game was often erratic, confused. However, the team still bombarded Shield goalkeeper Hoonan with 76 shots. This goalkeeper has the gift to shine against the Titans, being the only reason that this match was pushed to the limit. For his part, Emile Goulet was perfect in the shootout, stopping all three Shield shooters. The Titans came back twice from 2 goal deficits, trailing 2-0 and 3-1to force overtime on a Dallas Routh goal with only 9 seconds to play in regulation. WIth all these absentees and having played on the road last night, we must be satisfied with the result, even if the execution left to be desired. That said, you’ll notice that in the win … the Titans only allowed 3 goals. Finally, the Titans organisation would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Nicolas Vandal, who lost his grandmother. Erik Lilliecreutz scored the only goal in the shootout. Bailey Chenier and Joakim Braneby has the other goals for the Titans.Shots on goal were 76-30 Titans. 3 stars Hardy Hoonjan, Shield netminder, Dayton Murray and Joakim Braneby. Next match of the Titans, Sunday 2pm at the Centre against the Knights of Meaford. This will be the last home game for 2018.
