Rattlers win 8-6, claim North div championship

Rattlers win 8-6 at the Centre
The Titans were hosting the first place Rattlers at the Centre on Friday night. The Titans came out of the gate flying as they dominated the first 4 minutes of the game but a costly major penalty quickly changed the game as Bradford scored 4 power play goals in less than 3 minutes. From that point on it was catch up hockey for the Titans. The Titans struck for a pair of goals of their own by Eisai Arai and Alex Provost-Ross on a PP. But with only 12 seconds to play in the period the Rattlers regained their 3 goal cushion. The second period had each team score a single goal, Axel Hallor got the Titans marker. So end of second, score was 6-3 Rattlers. Early into the final 20 minutes, the Rattlers made it 7-3. Then three unanswered goals by Provost-Ross with his second, Nikita Sidenko and Erik Lilliecreutz made it a one goal game with almost 8 minutes to play. But a power play goal with less than 3 minutes by the Rattlers put the game out of reach. The third period was a penalty filled affair with a total of 10 penalties handed out. The Titans outshot the Rattlers 55-28. Rattlers netminder Trevor Babin was the games first star, Alex Provost-Ross was the second star and Rattlers Alvari Rautiainen the 3rd. With their win tonight the Rattlers claimed the North division title. The Titans are back in action Saturday night as they take the short drive down highway 17 to face the Lynx in their last road game of the regular season, game time is 7:30pm
