Titans take game 1 in shootout over Ravens

Titans  win game #1 of the semi finals series with a shootout goal by Marc-Antoine Arseneau in the 4th round of shooters.  Craig Wood then had the crowd of over 400 standing as he pulled the puck right off the stick of Tye Campbell of the Ravens to give the victory to the Titans.  A first period goal by Brandon Case gave the Titans a 1-0 lead.  In the middle period, both teams exchanged 4 goals with goals by Joey Molfetta and Andreas Nordkvist.  Leading  now 3-2 the Titans allowed the Ravens to tie the game at 3 about half way through the final period.  Setting the stage for a 5 minutes sudden death four against four period, which settled nothing.  The game would have to be settled via a shootout.  The first six shooters either missed the target or both goalies made the saves.  Which brought us to Arseneau’s heroics.  The fans went home pleased with their home team’s victory.  Shots were 50-36 Ravens and the 3 stars were Arseneau, Wood and Ravens netminder Brandon Billie.  Game #2 is set for Saturday night with a 7:30pm puck drop.
