Titans tame the Huskies, 8-3

The Titans were back in action following their recent participation in the GMHL showcase tournament in Port Colborne on Tuesday as they were facing the last place Seguin Huskies at the Centre. The Titans got the crowd into the game at the 6:35 mark of the opening period when Simon Brannvall’s goal had the crowd tossing their Teddy bears onto the ice. All the Teddy bears were then donated to the local Lions club to be distributed to needy families during the holidays. A total of 177 Teddy bears were collected. The Titans scored three more times before the first 20 minutes were over. Guillaume Taupier, Harald Sundell and Alex Provost-Ross were the marksmen. The Titans increased their lead to 6-0 on goals by Loic Odin and Joakim Braneby in the middle period before the Huskies broke Aaron Young’s shutout bid. Young who recently joined the Titans was making his first start. He faced 17 shots in the first and second period. In the third period, Nick St-Jules took over the finish the game. St-Jules, another goaltender recently acquired by the Titans in a trade that saw Jason Goes going to the Tottenham Steam in exchange for St-Jules. The North Bay native played 5 games with the Steam and had a record of 1-4 with a gaa of 6.44 and .842 save %. The Titans put the game away in the third period with goals from Brannvall and Sundell to male the final 8-3 Titans. Shots were 57-27 Titans. 3 stars were Alex Provost-Ross, Michael White and Simon Brannvall.

The Titans will take the short drive up highway 101 to renew their rivalry with the Pirates with a 7:30 start. Then back home to close out 2017 against the second place Almaguin Spartans with a 2pm puck drop.
