Titans sink the Islanders 5-2

Titans take down the Islanders

Fresh off their shootout win on Friday against the Bulls, the Titans headed to Parry Sound on Saturday to take on the 2nd place Islanders with a record of 14-1-1. A tough task for sure, but the Titans came prepared as they took the lead half way through the opening period on a Nico Wilton power play goal and never trailed the remainder of the night. In the middle period, they increased the lead to 3-0 on goals by Wilton with his second and Guillaume Taupier. Parry Sound replied with their first but Jakob Wilhelmsson quickly restored the 3 goal advantage to send the Titans into the final period leading 4-1. The Islanders cut the margin to 4-2 half way through the third. But not for some stellar netminding from Raffaele Izzo who faced 50 shots, the Islanders would have scored several times. An empty netter by Lee Pollitt sealed the victory for the Titans. Wilhelmsson added 2 helpers as did Nicolas Proulx. Next game will be a home affair with the Titans closest rivals, the Almaguin Spartans on Friday November 11th.
