Titans shutout by Civics, 3-0

The Titans were hosting the north division leading New Tecumseth Civics (26-2) on Saturday night at the Centre. The three previous games between these 2 teams were close with plenty of action on both sides. But tonight was a different story as it was the Civics that grabbed a 2-0 first period lead and cruised the rest of the game to register the first shutout against the Titans in over a year. The Civics got a third period insurance goal but it was not needed as the Titans came up with lacklustre performance. The one bright spot was goalie Veli Makinen who faced 50 Civics shots and on two their goals that were deflected he had no chance. The Titans now get the night to rest up for their longest road trip of the year as they head to Wiarton early Sunday morning for a 6:30pm game against the Rock. The Titans last home game of 2016 will be next Saturday, December 17th at 2pm when they host the Knights of Meaford. It will also be Teddy Bear toss night.
