Titans spring tournament. The Centre was holding one last event before the ice is removed for the summer. The 10th annual
Titans lead series 2-1
Following a split in Seguin, the Titans returned home to the friendly confines of the Centre. And on Sunday evening over 600 filled the seats and witnessed their team double up 4-2 on the Seguin Huskies and now lead the best of seven Russell Cup series 2-1. The Titans will host the next two games on Thursday March 26 and Friday March 27 both games have a 7:30pm puck drop.
Only 14 seconds after the start of the game Marc-Antoine Arseneau (15) got the crowd back on their feet when he skated in and parked one in the top shelf. The lead was short lived as the Huskies tied the score about 4 minutes later. The period ended tied but the play was dominated by the visitors outshooting the Titans 21-9. Only some stellar saves from Craig Wood did the score not change. Only one goal was scored in the middle period and it gave the Huskies a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. The Titans seemed to come alive in the final period. Curtis Warren (13) stole the puck from a Seguin defender and put a few moves on to beat the Huskies netminder. Later Warren (14) scored on a Titans power play at the 9:50 mark. They maintained that lead until the last minute when Arseneau (16) lobbed the puck over several Seguin players and it found it’s way into the vacant net to secure the win. Shots were 44-32 Seguin. 3 stars Warren, Wood & Arseneau.
