Ravens take game 5 in shootout, 4-3

The Titans had a glorious chance to advance to the GMHL finals as they hosted the Halton Ravens on Friday evening at the Centre.  In front of a packed house of over 500, the Titans were trailing 1-0 after 20 minutes and 3-1 after 40 minutes. The goal was by Joey Molfetta.  It seemed that the Titans were going to be forced to make another trip down to Burlington until Curtis Warren put two quick goals past the Ravens netminder to tie the score at 3 goals apiece.  Up to the 10 minute mark the Titans were held to 3 shots on goals but after the scoring dominated the remainder of the period and had several excellent chances to take a lead.  Both teams were headed to their second overtime game.  The extra five minute period was action packed but no goals were scored.  Shootout would decide the game.  The first three Titans shooters were stopped as were the first two Ravens players.  But on their final attempt, the Ravens scored.   Shots were 62 – 45 Ravens.  3 stars Gourlay, Curtis Warren and S.Bennett.  The Titans now will be heading to Burlington for a Sunday afternoon affair at 3:30pm.

If a game #7 is required in this series, it will be played back in Temiscaming on Wednesday March 18th.  Warm up 7:00pm
